The Cats that own me:
The newest addition: Little Duma

DOB: May 2004
Hair Color: Calico
Eye Color: green/orange
Likes: TBD
Dislikes: TBD
Name Origin:‘little cheetah’, inspired by my recent travels in Africa, her high pitch squeaky meow reminded me of the cheetah (duma)…even the way her mouth moves when she meows looks like a cheetah.
Driving desire in Life: TBD
Found with her brother as a kitten outside, she was taken in and cleaned up by a rescue person, who kept the two in a bathroom for approx six months, then the two transferred to another foster home where she was able to have more contact with people and other cats. I adopted her March 2005 when she was about 10 months old.
Tibbs

DOB: 1996
Hair Color: Gray with white socks
Eye Color: Green
Likes: To jump up the front door and look through the peep hole at night. Follow me everywhere.
Dislikes: Getting bit by fish while drinking from the fish tank.
Name Origin: On a Disney kick, I named him after the only cat in 101 Dalmations (also a fiesty gray cat).
Driving desire in Life: Food and maintaining the pretense of not caring.
Tibbs is the result of wanting a white cat to go with my black cat when Raja was about 2 years old. How I ended up with a gray, white footed smart ass cat, I’ll never know. Tibbs is all cat! Born a healthy cat in a good size litter, I found him at one of those Sat afternoon adopt a kitten things that pet stores host. He continued to grow, and grow, and grow. If he was human he would be a football player . . . At around 15lbs he finally settled down and stopped growing. Admittedly he could stand to loss a couple pounds and we are working on that, however he is a naturally stocky cat. Tibbs is very much a typical cat, he hears and understands way more than he lets on and has very selective sight and hearing.

My beloved Raja:
1994 - 2004
Raja’s battle with cancer and suffering ended on Nov 30th, 2004

DOB: 1994
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: orange/brown
Likes: Bread, bedtime.
Dislikes: Loud noises. Tibbs getting too affectionate. Strangers. Strange men.
Name Origin: On a Disney kick, I named him after the loyal tiger pet in Aladin.
Driving desire in Life: Find the perfect sun spot to sleep in and chattering at birds outside.
Born as an abandoned dumpster kitty, Raja was a underweight kitten with a bad eye. At 8 weeks, when I got hold of him, he looked like a cross-eyed 6 week old. He grew into a huge 13+lbs (no fat, just all cat) scardy cat. Although very loving to me, for years none of my friends ever saw him, some doubting I even had a cat! After Tibbs joined our family, and I moved several times with the cats, Raja came to realize that the world was not out to kill or injure him and it was safe to be a cat.
Raja is very dog-like. He comes when I call his name, loves to play fetch, and actually understands and responds to a stern NO!
