Web Break

Move along…nothing to see here…really nothing at all
I’ve been around since 2000, redid my site a few times, last time was 2008 - but I haven’t figured out exactly what I want on my site, so I’m taking a break. I’ll figure it out and jump back onto the web later.

If you want to see some of my old travel pics and stories you can go here…

Hi!

coffee
Welcome to my refreshed site!
I’ve been around since 2000, but this new look is to celebrate 2008!

(or you can see the ‘Stuff I Write About’ links to the left)

If you just want to browse around check out the Sitemap
…or you can search for a specific topic, using the search box to the left.

please note, transferring my picture pages to my new design will be a larger project then anticipated - they are there, but in a different format.

Correction to my Country Count

Recently I wrote a post about counting the countries I had visit:
The ‘How Many’ Game
I consulted my map and travel page and came up with a corrected count of twenty-one!

I doubt I’ll be traveling anywhere else this year…but hope to get in a couple trips next year.

I love traveling! Makes me happy just thinking about it :)

Yam Pie

Very tasty…I’ve only made it once so far but it was a great replacement to the traditional pumpkin pie (and healthier!)

Economy Cure: Get a City Cat

Maybe if each state gets its own cat, that sports some representative costume, then we can stimulate the economy with all the tourism generated…maybe??

Favorite New Word of the Day

From the Urban Dictionary:

NW - Oct 08

It’s been a while since I updated my NW, but thought it was about time…and with the recent market crash I’m a bit curious to see what what my personal bigger picture is now.

The below numbers are a comparison of mid-Oct08 to May08 (not posted) numbers:

Asset growth = - 4.46%
Debt reduction = 6.09%
Overall Goal = 59.8%

Asset growth is actually not bad considering the market lately.
Debt reduction is a result of paying off my car (hooray) and greatly reducing a personal loan.
I suspect now with the nasty market situation, my Overall Goal may take a little longer to reach.
However I expect that by next summer, my cost of living will be going dramatically down while I continue with my current income, and that should put my savings on a faster track.
